Transportation logistics management is an integral part of delivering goods from suppliers to customers. Everything and everyone involved in the delivery of products or materials are encompassed by supply chain management, including transportation logistics management. Logistics experts need to focus on transportation, specifically the efficient planning and procurement of transportation for products and materials. Freight trains, trucks, ships, and planes move goods every day. Knowledge of the rules, regulations, benefits, and costs associated with these modes of transport is necessary for professionals in this field. To succeed, you may also need strong skills in strategic planning, customer service, leadership, and math.
This Logistics and Transport Management training course examines the effective management and flow of materials through an organization’s supply chain. Significant costs and delays to standard operations and projects are often caused by small inefficiencies in logistics and transport. This training course discusses how costs can be reduced; performance can be improved as well as increase in customer satisfaction
At the end of the training, the graduates will be qualified to serve as :
Ø Officers of the transport unit, Inventory Personnel,
Ø Stock controller and stock-keeper,
Ø Procurement officer,
Ø Logistics engineer,
Ø Supply chain officer,
Ø International logistics officer,
Ø Maritime controller,
Ø Shipping agency personnel etc.
Admission to the Professional Degree Programme in Logistic and Transport Management is open to holders of the HND/HPD, BTS, DSEP in Logistics, Management, and other certificates related to the discipline.
The duration of the degree program is one year (two semesters) in YIBS including an internship.
For a student to qualify for graduation, a minimum of 60 credits must be earned.
