Didactics, Curriculum Development and Teaching

Program Overview

This specialty explores how critical approaches to curriculum and theories of learning provide meaningful ways of thinking about schooling, knowledge, teaching, learning, research, and the nature of pedagogical relationships. Curriculum and Learning encompass issues of content, context, and teaching in both formal and non-formal educational settings.

This specialty derives from a research about the teaching of didactics in undergraduate teacher preparation courses, with the purpose of analyzing the knowledge of teaching that is built by future teachers in the context of this discipline, considering what is taught, how it is taught, and the influence of the trainer based on what he does to teach.

Objective of the Training

To provide professional training for graduates from various subject areas wishing to teach or who are teaching at secondary school system and educational settings.

  • Translate government policies on primary and secondary education into measurable objectives, programs and activities
  • Develop and revise syllabusesDevelop and revise syllabuses

Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) in this field are eligible for the following:

  • professional degree (Bachelor’s of Technology) for 9 months;

  • writing the entrance into ENSET or ENS level III in your related field;

  • teaching at Teachers’ Training colleges;

  • working in schools and organizations etc.
