Educational Management and Administration

Educational management and administration is a field to pursue a great career path. Professionals in this field, do not only have a passion for education but wish to become decision makers on matters of policy, curriculum, personnel, and above all have a broad spectrum of career choices. It will enable students to reflect on how management and administration theories are applicable to the community contexts. It describes and analyses the strengths and weaknesses of the system.

To enable the learners to:  

1. Become effective and efficient managers of teaching/administration of education;
2. Be acquainted with the central and state machinery for educational administration and management;
3. To enable the students to get some insight into supervision, inspection, and know trends of development;
4. Be acquainted with the techniques and tools used in analyzing issues relating to school governance;
5. Build public policy analysis tools relating to school planning;
6. To become professionals in administrative drafting.

ADMISSION

Admission to the Professional Degree Programme in Educational management and administration and teaching is open to holders of the HND/HPD, BTS, DSEP in Education, and other certificates related to the discipline.

DURATION

The duration of the degree program is one year (two semesters) in YIBS including an internship.  

GRADUATION REQUIREMENT

For a student to qualify for graduation, a minimum of 60 credits must be earned.

FURTHER STUDIES

Upon graduation with the Bachelor’s certificate in educational management and administration, the students could choose to pursue further studies by spending one more year to earn in degree in any related Education field
